Kevin Spacey to be cut from upcoming film, sources say — NewsAlert

In a somewhat unprecedented move, Ridley Scott is set to reshoot scenes from his upcoming movie All The Money In The World, replacing actor Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer as John Paul Getty.

Christopher Plummer is set to replace Spacey in the role of J Paul Getty, with reshoots of key scenes expected to start immediately to keep the film's December 22 USA release date.

It was agreed upon by all parties involved that Spacey's scenes would be re-shot, and Christopher Plummer will take his place in the role of J Paul Getty.

Hollywood director Ridley Scott's madman feats of efficiency have always been legend.

The news follows a wave of sexual assault allegations made against Spacey by over a dozen people, including multiple accusations of assault on underage victims.

The Black List screenplay, written by David Scarpa, centers on the 1973 kidnapping in Italy of J. Paul Getty III - the rebellious teenage grandson of oil billionaire J. Paul Getty, who was reluctant to pay the $17 million ransom demanded by the kidnappers. And per THR, Plummer was actually Scott's first choice for the role of Getty, but Sony wanted a bigger name in the part.

Despite the age difference between the two actors - at 87, Plummer is nearly 30 years Spacey's senior - the recasting will come as a welcome development for director Ridley Scott.

It is a race against the clock, because to be eligible for Oscar contention, the film must hit theaters before the end of the year.

Spacey went on to clarify his sexuality, admitting he was now living as a homosexual following years of rumours.

"All the Money In The World" is the latest project to distance itself from Spacey.

Several other allegations of misconduct have since surfaced, including a claim by US TV presenter Heather Unruh that the actor groped her 18-year-old son in a bar last year.

Spacey was earlier removed from popular show "House of Cards".

Spacey has said that he does not remember the incident Rapp describes, but apologised in a statement for any "inappropriate drunken behaviour" he might have displayed.
