Breakfast at Tiffany's: NY jewellery store opens cafe

The luxury jeweler's first-ever restaurant at the flagship Fifth Avenue store will open the "Blue Box Café" on Friday on its newly-renovated 4th floor.

A half-century after Audrey Hepburn starred in "Breakfast at Tiffany's", the landmark NY jewellery store is making the title of the 1961 romantic comedy film a reality by opening a cafe where shoppers can enjoy a morning meal. According to the press release, the cafe's "playful and unexpected touches sit harmoniously alongside elegant finishes like herringbone marble and amazonite stone, reflecting the new Home & Accessories collection's emphasis on everyday luxury". It will operate during store hours and be outfitted in the brand's signature blue and white colors. "The space is experimental and experiential - a window into the new Tiffany".

The iconic Tiffany Blue® is infused throughout the interior floor plan and most notably at the forefront of the café's design.

Tiffany & Co. has been a fixture on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan since it opened its doors October 21, 1940.

According to Vanity Fair, diners at the Blue Box Cafe can enjoy simple, signature NY dishes.

Having breakfast at Tiffany's isn't just a big screen fantasy anymore. The menu is based on "American classics made with the highest quality, regionally sourced ingredients".
