Later in the day, the first lady will walk the Great Wall of China before returning to the United States, where she will visit with troops in Alaska before returning to Washington.

The Trumps visited Japan and South Korea before landing in China. Trump tweeted that his wife will first stop in Alaska "to greet our wonderful troops".

"I have a present for you from the United States", Trump told the children, handing out the stuffed bald eagles.

"This is handsome. This is fantastic", she said, according to a pool report.

She also shared what her time as first lady has been like at the one-year anniversary of her husband's election.
