Apple iPhone SE Successor Could Launch In Q1 Next Year

When it comes to specifications, Apple iPhone SE 2 will likely stick with the same 4-inch screen we saw on previous devices and there will be two versions: 32GB and 128GB, starting at $450.

The latest claims that the iPhone SE 2 will launch in the first three months of 2018, agreeing with the earlier rumors.

The iPhone SE 2, which is expected to be manufactured in India, is expected to be powered by the Apple A10 chipset found in the iPhone 7. That phone was created to cater to fans of smaller displays and who want a less-expensive iPhone, especially consumers in emerging markets who can't afford Apple's more premium devices.

The report further states that the second-generation iPhone SE will be assembled exclusively by Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron at its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, India. The iPhone SE in comparison has the Apple A9 processor.

Apple iPhone SE might be a popular device in India, thanks to its more affordable price and better camera, but it looks like this could finally get an upgrade. It lets fans of the smaller 4-inch screen retain the pocket-friendly size, but benefit from near-flagship specs.

The new iPhone SE 2 will be priced at close to $349, nearly half the going price for Apple's latest release, the iPhone X. That said, for me, I don't think I could go back to a non plus-sized phone after using the iPhone 8 Plus for the last six weeks. Moreover, the SE also supports 4K video playback, which was not available on the iPhone 5S.
