Steph Curry leaves game against Pelicans with sprained right ankle; X-rays negative

We're a championship team. This looks like the loss, even without Curry playing.

McCaw didn't return to the game Monday after getting knocked in the nose by DeMarcus Cousins on a dunk attempt midway through the second quarter. He got up and hobbled down the court. The two-time Most Valuable Player will be sidelined for a while, league sources said.

After the game, Curry needed crutches to go from the locker room to the X-ray room. He has had numerous surgeries on his right ankle.

X-rays were negative, but he walked with a noticeable limp.

That's a scary injury no matter who it is, so Curry nearly appeared relieved when X-rays came back negative and he was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain.

"I haven't done that one in a while". "I shouldn't say that". Curry told reporters he had reached out to Kobe Bryant for advice on how to deal with an injured ring finger on his shooting hand after missing a contest November 27 because of the injury. Stephen Curry falls into that category. "That it was a dumb play because I tried to go for a steal".

"So obviously it hurt, but wanted to kind of get back here, get ice on it and get the rehab process started as soon as possible".

Golden State next plays Wednesday night for its only trip of the season to Curry's hometown of Charlotte. Curry was asked about the possibility of missing that game. "I missed a game there before", Curry said.
