Metro in Agra, Kanpur; Jewar airport project expedited: Yogi Adityanath

Sisodia's remarks came after the inauguration function of Botanical Garden-Janakpuri West section of Magenta Line in which the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) invited the Prime Minister and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath but ignored Kejriwal. He also travelled briefly on the metro train, before arriving at the venue for the public meeting.

UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

The prime minister boarded the metro at Botanical Garden, which is the terminal station of the Magenta Line, at 1.05 pm, and alighted at the Okhla Birds Sanctuary following a four- minute ride.

Acknowledging the role of the people of Uttar Pradesh in strengthening the country, Prime Minister Modi said, "It is due to the people of Uttar Pradesh that the nation has got a strong and stable government". "I will always remain grateful to UP for their affection", he said.

He further said that governance can not happen when the dominant thought process begins at "Mera Kya" and ends at "Mujhe Kya", adding it was important for governments to do away with outdated laws that hamper the growth of the nation.

Aditynath said that in the nine months of his rule, he was taking decisions without any partisan attitude or self interest. Recalling his days as the chief minister of Gujarat, Modi said there were 6 to 7 places in the state where no chief minister went out of the fear that whoever does so would lose his seat.

Also, he applauded Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath breaking the jinx associated with Noida.

"I ignored this and visited all such places", Modi said and pointing that he remained Gujarat CM for almost 20 years.

For better crowd management, all stations will have Platform Screening Doors which are installed ahead of the Metro coach gates.
