New leak shows off the Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2

The phones that Sony is working on now include - Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2. However, it has been reported that Sony plans to announce these phones at CES later this month.

VentureBeat notes that an early CES launch is possible, though the phones could be delayed until Mobile World Congress in February. Additionally, Sony has always been critised for not upgrading the design of their phones, and the company may follow the same with its upcoming flagships as well. The leak shows off the Xperia XA2 Ultra, the XA2, and the Xperia L2, each of which clings to Sony's aging Xperia design for at least one more year.

Meanwhile, the Xperia XA2 (pictured just above) will have a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, the same Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. And whereas the Xperia XA1 has a 5.0-inch, 720 x 1280 display, the 5.2-inch XA2 (pictured above and below) looks to offer the same full HD, 1080 x 1920 resolution as the larger 6.0-inch XA2 Ultra (whose display characteristics are remaining unchanged, year-to-year).

As far as the specs are concerned, the Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra are all set to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which has been clocked at 2.2GHz. The Xperia XA2 Ultra will sport the same 21-megapixel, 4k capable rear sensor. Both will rock the Full HD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels. On the other hand, we don't know much about the camera, except that the XA2 Ultra's main camera is 21MP big and the XA2 is equipped with a 7MP front camera. Based on recent GFX Bench listings of the smartphone, the alleged XA2 is seen sporting a 21MP rear camera supporting 4K video recording. While the XA2 handsets could come with Android Oreo out of the box, the L2 may sport the older Android 7.1 Nougat. That's an upgrade from the Sony Xperia XA1's 5-inch 720p display.
