Fire Breaks Out at Trump Tower in New York City, FDNY Says

Firefighters arrived at the scene in minutes and extinguished the fire, which hadn't spread beyond an HVAC unit on the roof, according to The Washington Post.

Trump was not in New York City at the time of the fire.

"There was a small electrical fire in a cooling tower on the roof of Trump Tower".

Completed in 1983, Trump Tower was designed by American architect Der Scutt and has zigzagging glass facade, with stepped terraces topped with trees midway up.

One fire fighter and two bystanders were reportedly injured. A blaze broke out in the ventilation system of the building yesterday, injuring three people, including a firefighter.

The Manhattan high rise that bears his name houses President Trump and his family.

First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron lived in the residence for the first few months of Trump's presidency, before moving to the White House.

It was believed to be sparked by an electrical box on the roof of the building. How fitting. A sign from God", one wrote, while another added, "Hope Trump likes all the fire and fury happening on top of his tower right now. "The men and women of the #FDNY are true heroes and deserve our most honest thanks and praise!" he posted on micro-blogging site Twitter. The fire burned a hole in the bathroom ceiling before being extinguished.

Several others likened the current POTUS to the devil while commenting on the fire: "When fire breaks out on the top of Trump Tower because Trump Tower is hell's current headquarters". The Clintons were not home at the time.
