Mom left newborn baby in airport bathroom with handwritten note

Mom left newborn baby in airport bathroom with handwritten note

However, an airport is not a designated place to abandon a child, and police say the woman in the video may face charges if found.

The Tucson Airport Authority discharged film this seven day stretch of the lady strolling through the air terminal when the baby was deserted on January 14, and are hoping to discover her identity.

The baby appeared healthy otherwise and was transported to a nearby hospital, airport spokeswoman Jessie Butler said in summary provided to The Washington Post.

The woman told the custodian she was okay and that she just had her period before she quickly left the restroom, police said. The mother vanished after giving birth alone in the airport bathroom, leaving behind only a handwritten note. Please get me to the authorities so they can find me a good home.

The baby was left on a changing table in one of the airport's changing rooms with a note reading, "Please help me". It continues: "I just want what is best for him and it's not me".

Ms Quintana asked the woman if she was OK, and the mother told her the baby, who was naked and had his eyes shut, was three months old before hurrying away.

Airport security received a 911 call from someone who discovered the baby at the changing table near baggage claim, according to KABC, and they immediately began investigating. The custodian also found bloody clothes in a trash can.

Arizona is a "safe haven" state that allows parents unable to care for their newborns to leave them in designated areas like hospitals and churches.

The child was in good condition, authorities said. "Please. I'm sorry", the mother wrote on the note. Airport officials are trying to identify the mother, "but we've exhausted our resources", Butler said in a statement. "There is a lot of fear".
