Nokia 8 officially launched in Indonesia

HMD Global will be pulling a Samsung this year, as the holding company of the Nokia brand will be sharing its launch event date with the world's biggest smartphone manufacturer on February 25, a day ahead of MWC 2018. The recent reports have suggested that the Nokia 9 could be announced with the moniker Nokia 8 Sirocco. HMD started selling Nokia phones in December of 2016 and in January of 2017, the company announced their first Nokia-branded smartphone, the Nokia 6. The Nokia 2, which launched in the U.S. and India last November, will hit store shelves this month with an affordable £99 price tag. It has already been listed on FCC, revealing some of the purported specifications.

Launched in September past year with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the Nokia 8 received an update to Android 8.0 in November.

Before proceeding to download Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Nokia 8, you need to activate Wi-Fi because the total capacity of the update is almost 1.5GB. It is also said to be the second smartphone after the LG V30 entering the Indonesian market with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The phone is backed by 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD. The Nokia 7 plus will also feature a dual-tone design thanks to a few gilded bits and pieces like the fingerprint scanner ring, the dual-camera casing and the Nokia logo on the back. The Nokia 1, on the other hand, is an entry-level smartphone that's powered by Android Oreo (Go Edition).

It sports a dual camera system on the rear, which comprises of a 13-megapixel RGB sensor and a 13-megapixel Monochrome sensor, and supports Optical Image Stabilisation, laser and phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash.
