Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway Might Get Their Oscars Redemption Story

Warren Beatty & Faye Dunaway Might Get Their Oscars Redemption Story

TMZ now reports that Beatty and Dunaway will get a do-over, by returning to present this year's Best Picture Oscar.

The big victor! The Shape of Water won best picture at the 90th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 4. The three-time Grammy champ won this Oscar in 2014 for "Glory" from the film "Selma".

Mary J. Blige is set to bring down the house at the Academy Awards.

Warren Beatty onstage at the 2017 Oscars. Her 21st nod this year is for "The Post" - a classic piece of Oscar-bait with an above the title co-star (Tom Hanks) and director (Steven Spielberg) about a historic event (the Pentagon Papers) that plays into the political leanings of the bulk of Academy voters.

He said: "I want to dedicate this to every young filmmaker, the youth who is showing us how things are done in every country of the world".

It's a potentially genius move, sure to give a helping hand to the evening's ratings (which have been dropping steadily over the years) and to hold on to the spectacle of last year's awards show. But ratings have recently been declining. It was one of the least-watched Oscar shows ever, with just 32 million people tuning in, down four percent from the year before (and 14 percent among viewers 18-49). Even more worrisome was a slide in the key demographic of adults aged 18-49, whose viewership was down 14 percent from 2016.

The legendary actress is opening up about last year's infamous mistake. An especially dismal summer movie season was 92 million admissions shy of summer 2016, according to the National Alliance of Theater Owners. But past year, he felt he'd seen "a lot more of the movies than the crowd at the Oscars", and "it's hard to do a joke if people don't know what the reference is".

One of the key changes was visible on Sunday as awards were being presented. Actually, it wasn't all their fault since they got the wrong card.

Last year's PwC accountants, Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz, were replaced by Rick Rosas and Kimberly Bourdon.

Jimmy Kimmel is ready for his second stint hosting the Oscars, and he hopes for a repeat performance of last year's Envelope-gate, in which Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the wrong film as best picture. Let's take a look back at that moment in time!
