Sam Nunberg Says He Will Refuse Subpoena in Russia Probe

Sam Nunberg Says He Will Refuse Subpoena in Russia Probe

Nunberg told Tur he would not co-operate with Mueller, saying: "It's a witch hunt and I'm not going to cooperate".

Fired former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg is sorry for calling Sarah Sanders a "fat slob" and said he was "having a rough day" when he viciously attacked her.

Nader's cooperation is part of an apparent expansion of Mueller's investigation. He has met numerous times with investigators.

Sean Hannity aired a clip of controversial former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg being interviewed on CNN - as the host said she smelled alcohol on his breath, and asked if he'd been drinking. The Washington Post, whom he did not contact, wrote that this was either an elaborate Roger Stone-designed stunt to take the attention off other woes, he was trying to signal Trump the special counsel had evidence that should confirm him, he was indeed a broken man or, the most novel from columnist Ruth Marcus, that he was trying to impeach himself as a witness.

"If it encouraged him to go to speak to his attorney, I am happy we prevailed upon him a more rational path", Wiley said.

Nader is an adviser to UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

Nunberg is a lawyer who has been admitted to the New York state bar after graduating from Touro Law Center on Long Island, New York.

Refusing to comply with a subpoena from the special counsel could have serious consequences. He is the author of nine books on the U.S. Constitution.

Nader was present at a meeting between Emirati officials and Trump associates in NY in December 2016 and in the Seychelles islands in January 2017. He did so by appearing on basically every news network possible while talking about how he was going to defy Robert Mueller's subpoena.

In one instance, Trump told former White House staff secretary Rob Porter that counsel Donald McGahn should deny a Times article in January saying the president had asked McGhan to fire Mueller previous year.

Investigators now suspect that the Seychelles meeting may have been one of the first efforts to establish such a line of communications between the two governments, these people said.

Like most people hired by Mr. Trump before his presidential candidacy, Mr. Nunberg signed a contract that provided for liquidated damages of $10 million should he publicly reveal any private matters he learned about Mr. Trump during his employment.

At the White House, officials quickly sought to distance the administration from Nunberg, who has not been in Trump's good graces since his firing in August 2015 over racially insensitive Facebook posts. When Tur changed gears to ask if Mueller's investigators "have something on the president", Nunberg was helpful.

He also showed the Post a copy of what appeared to be his subpoena, the newspaper reported, which included a list of names of those about whom the special counsel is seeking information.

The Journal also reported that Cohen told the paper's sources that he missed two earlier deadlines to pay Daniels "because he couldn't reach Mr. Trump in the hectic final days of the presidential campaign". He traveled to Moscow twice in 2016 and was the subject of surveillance by the USA intelligence community.
