Xbox joins the cross-platform party for Fortnite

Less than a year after landing on PC and console, the game in its Fortnite Battle Royale mode is arriving on mobile to cross the streams, mixing the mobile action with PC and PS4 gamers. With Fortnite Mobile recruits occurring later today, Epic Games and Microsoft have given fans new any expectation of cross-stage play between the two support forms. Epic also states that invites will be sent out in phases.

Fortnite on mobile devices is available primarily for iOS with an Android version for selected models coming in the future, as is always the case. The website shouldn't be down for too long, but until it comes back up, players can always monitor the Epic Games homepage for new changes. You will receive an email invite once you are able to play. It goes further than that though, Epic is promising Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and Android.

This mobile invite event is now only available for iOS users and it is unknown how many users will be selected, whether the selection is via lottery, or if it is first come first serve.

"Microsoft has always been a leading voice in encouraging the adoption of cross-platform play and the potential of connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles", a Microsoft representative said in an email to The Jolt Journal today. Mobile players will also get to join PlayStation and PC lobbies, however this does not work vice versa.

The Fortnite mobile sign ups have gone live.

In 2016, Microsoft announced the support for the cross-play between Windows 10 and Xbox One, making a path for Rocket League players across platforms to play together.

The game now is invite only for the iOS but you can get your invite by going Here. "We've been cooperating with them throughout the most recent a while to make this conceivable, and will expedite this usefulness to Fortnite players Xbox ideal alongside different stages".
