Stenson leads; Tiger 7 down

Stenson leads; Tiger 7 down

Henrik Stenson hits from the 18th tee during Friday's second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Stenson did bogey the par-3 17 and DeChambeau the par-4 15, but with rounds of 71 and 72, respectively, they ended the day as they began it - atop the leaderboard.

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy is two shots off the lead after a five-under-par 67 in the third round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.

Woods added a few electric moments to his personal highlight reel on Saturday.

Playing the seventh of eight pre-Masters events - and his fifth in six weeks - he insisted he's glad he took three months off after a hard 2017.

Woods also holed from 11 feet for par on the ninth, his final hole, after finding a greenside bunker with his approach and is now vying for favouritism for the Masters with world number one Dustin Johnson.

The third-round 69 breaks a small string of third-round improvement during Woods' three previous made cuts this year.

Playing in the company of Tiger Woods, Justin Rose followed McIlroy's lead with a 67 of his own to get to 9-under and three back while his playing partner sent the crowds into raptures with an 18th hole birdie to move to a share of 10th and five off the pace. "It feels good to be able to finally understand and feel that I can get into a round again".

A month ago, McIlroy suggested that the commotion that surrounds a group following Tiger Woods cost the 14-time major champion half a shot per round.

"I think that I didn't really miss a shot the last six holes", said Stenson, who was at 12-under 204. "But tomorrow there's one more day, one back, got a lot of guys behind me that are lurking".

The eight-time Bay Hill victor Woods now shares fifth place with world No.7 Rickie Fowler. He was seven shots back.

"Unfortunately, just didn't go my way today", he said. That stems from his runner-up finish last week at Innisbrook, where he was never more than three shots behind in the final round and had a long birdie putt at the end to force a playoff. A victory on Sunday could get him back on track, and it would be his first worldwide victory since his incredible performance at the 2016 TOUR Championship.

"I'm cleaning out my locker, and he's over there having his ice tea thing and so he's just sitting there and, 'Hey, grab a seat.' So we sat down, we just started to BS and have a great time together", Woods said.

"That was as clean a ball-striking round as I have had all year, so I am excited". "Some went in, some didn't".
