Acer's Chromebook Tab 10 will be available in the United States in April from $329.

The new Acer Chromebook Tab 10 will be available to "education and commercial customers" in the U.S. in April and in the United Kingdom from June.

Dubbed the Chromebook Tab 10, the 9.7-inch device is squarely aimed at the education sector, namely teachers and students from kindergarten all the way up to grade 12. Powering the tablet is an OP1 chipset built by Rockchip, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The tablet also has dual speakers and the battery can provide up to 9 hours per charge as per the report. And imaging is handled by a 2MP front camera and a 5MP at the rear. And with Expeditions AR, students will be able to stare into the eye of a miniature Category 5 hurricane or get up close with a strand of DNA. The new tablet is targeted at the education industry, and intended for use in classrooms. With the annotation feature in Google Classroom, teachers can illustrate complex concepts and give visual feedback, as well as assign PDF worksheets that students can annotate by hand.

The tablet is compatible with Google Play. This means a wider range of students, including younger ones with smaller hands, can handle the device and engage with the intuitive touch display as they navigate, zoom and spin through their lessons.
