Apple said to be working on touchless control, curved iPhone screen

Apple said to be working on touchless control, curved iPhone screen

In a world with so many smartphone manufacturers constantly competing with each other for a share of the market, innovation is a key factor and Apple is attempting to be at the forefront of innovation once again. "The control feature would let iPhone users perform some tasks by moving their finger close to the screen without actually tapping it ..."

Apple's manufacturing partners are gearing up for MicroLED production if news from Taiwan proves to be entirely accurate.

As per the report, a curved screen iPhone with touchless gestures could arrive in the next two to three years. The curves will presumably be a lot more noticeable than the slightly curved display on the bottom of the iPhone X. Both these features are said to be in early test and development stages and it may as well be the case that Apple may decide to put this on a halt.

The work comes as the Cupertino, California-based smartphone pioneer looks to make its gadgets stand out. It is the first non-Pro iPad model to feature support for Apple Pencil and is mainly geared toward the education sector, but makes a great, affordable tablet as well, especially considering the Apple Pencil support. And the latest report says that Apple will follow Samsung by offering curved displays and touchless control on future iPhones. Google's ATAP research group has been working this sort of technology, too, through its Project Soli program. This is pretty different from Samsung's Air Gesture feature that debuted on the Galaxy S4 a few years ago, where Samsung embedded a motion sensor to detect gestures from a particular distance. Now, more than a decade later the company is planning to explore possibilities beyond touching glass screens all the time. Also, talking about Apple producing a new sort of device is exciting, so any whisper is more likely jumped upon than most other news bits.
