Russian Federation claims Israel bombed Syrian military base

"We have a lot of options militarily, and we'll be letting you know pretty soon".

UOSSM said doctors could not determine the origin of the chemical attacks.

Syria, backed its Russian and Iranian allies, dismissed USA allegations of its responsibility as "fabrications". But in an interview Monday, former Israel Air Force Commander Eitan Ben Eliyahu said that Israel could very well have been involved in the attack. "Big price to pay", Trump wrote on Twitter.

Trump has not left out anyone in the blame game against the president of Syria. He tweeted on Sunday there would be a "big price to pay" and said Russian Federation, its president, Vladimir Putin, and Iran were responsible for enabling "Animal Assad".

The UN Security Council is set to meet in an emergency session today to discuss the poison gas attack.

The Russian military said on Monday that two Israeli war planes carried out strikes on Syrian regime air base from Lebanese air space with eight missiles after USA and France denied responsibilty for the attack. Syria denied it was responsible for the attack, which killed at least 80 people.

The Syrian government denied it carried out a chemical weapons attack. Russian Federation announced on April 9 that it had resumed evacuating rebels and civilians from Douma under a negotiated pullout deal. Administration lawyers also argue that the use of chlorine violates the spirit of the 2013 agreement in which Syria said it would surrender its chemical weapons stockpiles.

The State Department, while unable to confirm reports of chemical weapon use Saturday, called the alleged attack "horrifying".

"Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria", Trump tweeted on Saturday.

The Syrian opposition blamed the suspected chemical attack on government forces, who launched an air and ground assault on Douma, the last rebel-held town in the eastern Ghouta district, on Friday.

The agency said it was likely "an American aggression" but US officials say the United States had not launched airstrikes on Syria.

He said the "hawkish rhetoric" in the Council and threats to use force had gone beyond what had prevailed during the Cold War. He said an escalation of the conflict could have "unimaginable consequences".

President Trump also condemned the Iranian regime and the Putin government for their support of the Assad regime.

Haley accused Russian Federation of repeatedly allowing Assad to carry out "war crimes" against innocent civilians by vetoing United Nations efforts to hold him accountable.

However, it is still unclear whether Mr. Trump will order a military response to the Douma attack. But it also is about the backers of the regime, and of course Russian Federation is one of those backers.

Moscow said some 8,000 fighters and 40,000 civilians would be bussed out and said that proved "no chemical weapons were used in this area".

"We are on the edge of a unsafe precipice", she said.

In January 2016, the firm contracted by OPCW to destroy the last of the chemical weapons said it had completed its work and destroyed Assad's "declared" stockpile. "The worldwide community must not let this happen".
