There was indiscretion on part of BJP's two J&K ministers: Ram Madhav

Madhav said the BJP will forward resignations of the two ministers - Commerce and industries minister Chandra Prakash Ganga and forest minister Chaudhary Lal Singh - to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for further action.

He said there is no threat to the coalition government and the two parties are working in coordination.

He said the two BJP leaders had visited the Hindu Ekta Manch rally to clam down the people and clear misgiving about the investigations.

Reacting to Congress leader Dinesh Gundurao's comment that Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath should be beaten with slippers, Javadekar said the BJP condemned such remarks and claimed that the opposition party was making provocative statements and trying to incite violence as it was afraid of losing the May 12 Karnakata Assembly polls.

Pressure is mounting on the Congress high command to sack party's J&K state president GA Mir for questioning the probe into the Kathua incident. However, there was some amount of indiscretion on the part of the ministers for which they had to resign, he said. The party is also looking at the possibility of inducting BJP state president Sat Sharma, who is completing his three-year term in December. In the audio conversation, SHO says that if he wants to live, he should manage the local BJP leaders in order to get his name out of the list. "It is up to the court now to decide".

Mehbooba Mufti is in Srinagar to meet party legislators and senior ministers to discuss the future course of action on the case.

"So, the talk of sacking (by the BJP) someone is misleading".

"The charge that the two ministers were pro-rapist is absolutely wrong".

He accused the Congress party of playing double standards. "We don't see much more than this", PDP's chief spokesman Rafi Ahmad Mir told GNS. Why are you silent?

Meanwhile, while reacting to the demand that the CBI should be asked to take up the case, Akhter said that the decision not to involve it (CBI) was taken because the family of the victim was against it. "And the BJP's stand is that we condemn any incident of rape or atrocities against women or children". "On Saturday night, about a dozen of youths riding two different SUV reached the village and threatened the villagers to leave the village either or keep mum when the police quiz them", he alleged. The court will monitor the investigation and asked the CBI to file a status report on May 2, the next date of hearing. He added that "botched up investigations" into the Shopian case were the main reason behind the 2010 uprising in the Valley. In the audio clip, the UP cop is also heard saying that Yadav has around 60 criminal cases against him and that makes him a suitable candidate for the encounter list.
