IPhone with triple rear camera coming in 2019 according to one analyst

In an investors note seen by CNET, analyst Jeff Pu predicts that Apple may release an iPhone in the second half of 2019 with three rear 12-megapixel cameras and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Should Apple move in that direction, it would follow in the footsteps of the new Huawei P20 Pro, which was the first mainstream smartphone to boast three rear-facing cameras. Further, a previous report the Economic Daily News last month reveals that the next iPhone will bear 6P lens design and it might support 5X zoom and at least one 12-megapixel sensor.

Recently, the debut of the flagship device Huawei P20 Pro triple camera. While in the range of Apple presents the iPhone 7 Plus, 8 Plus and iPhone iPhone X, which is equipped with dual cameras.

The detailed information regarding the three new models is not available right now. Details of 2019 iPhone models are scarce.

Reports also say the triple lens could be used for "powering advanced mapping systems". A new rumor claims that Apple is planning to bring the same camera technology to its future iPhones. The third lens' addition would mean that the user will have the ability optically zoom in up to 3X without losing any data.

Some sources suggest that, the premium iPhone would be called iPhone X Plus and it would feature an OLED panel while the other two iPhones to come with LCD panels which makes their pricing a little lower compare to the premium iPhone. Apple is most likely expected to launch the 2018 iPhone models around September 2019.

Would you want a third camera on an iPhone? The back facing cameras of the iPhone X is linked with the TrueDepth Camera.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Patently Apple, the Cupertino-based giant could use LG's next-generation MLCD+ display on its 2018 iPhone model.
