Rage 2 Officially Announced With True Open World FPS Experience

Going from the gameplay trailer, it seems to be the ideal match.

When Bethesda revealed the first trailer for RAGE 2 yesterday, the first impressions were that it was insane, but many of you wanted to wait for today's gameplay trailer. We're informed by an unidentified narrator - who seems to be the game's protagonist, Walker - that Rage 2's world is a post-apocalyptic wasteland that is now being fought over by various factions.

The game will reach PS4, Xbox One and PCs sometime in 2019, with more info expected at Bethesda's E3 event on June 10th. RAGE 2 is a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.

The Rage 2 is actually a successor of id Software's Rage game, developed under the supervising stick of John Carmack, so hopefully, it will live up to its name. Avalanche Studios joined forces with id to craft the game, bringing in its expertise in open world creation to add to the existing FPS mad skills.

Rage 2 will be a collaborative effort.

We're also impressed by just how many enemies seem to be on screen at a time, especially given it is an open world game with vehicles. The year is 2185 and with human numbers dwindling, it's up to you to stand up, be counted and smash things up in an epic display of explosive aggression and psychedelic haze.

Though Rage 2 has suffered an uncommon number of leaks in the past few weeks, surprisingly, gameplay isn't one of them. However, the official description of Rage 2 provides some clues. The sequel is set after an asteroid kills 80% of the world's population: "Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule with an iron fist". Well, not to worry as Bethesda has told us that they'll be releasing more information regarding the game tomorrow, May 15, at 10 AM EDT. You emerge into this vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and the Authority - an oppressive government regime that has a special interest in you in particular. "If you can see it, you can drive it". Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines tweeted that this year's E3 showcase "m$3 ight be our longest E3 Showcase ever", so expect Rage 2 to play a major role in the presentation.
