Cohen Reportedly Solicited Money From The Qatari Government

The USD130,000 payment in 2016 to Stephanie Clifford, better known as adult performer Stormy Daniels, was made by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who seems to have only been reimbursed previous year, according to the president's 2017 financial disclosure form released Wednesday.

In his2018 financial disclosure report, Trump revealed that he reimbursed Cohen after his $130,000 payment to the adult-film actress Stormy Daniels, which Cohen had facilitated just before the 2016 presidential election.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims she had a tryst with Trump in 2006 while he was married.

Two allegedly missing financial reports show roughly $3 million worth of previously undisclosed financial transactions linked to Michael Cohen, the longtime attorney to President Donald Trump who is now the subject of a federal criminal investigation over his business dealings.

In a highly unusual letter, the Office of Government Ethics alerted the justice department on Wednesday to the omission, telling Rod J. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, that the ethics office had determined "the payment made by Cohen is required to be reported as a liability". Trump repaid Cohen $100,001 to $250,000 in 2017, according to a footnote in the filing.

Details emerged last week on how Cohen leveraged his relationship with Trump to receive millions of dollars from companies eager for insight and entry into the new president's inner circle.

A career law-enforcement official told The New Yorker's Ronan Farrow in a story published on Wednesday night that they were unable to find the two suspicious activity reports (SARs) filed by First Republic Bank that documented those transactions.

Mr Cohen, whose records relating to the settlement were seized in an FBI raid last month, is now reportedly under criminal investigation.

Novartis has faced public outrage in recent weeks over its payment to Essential Consultants, a company founded by Mr. Cohen in 2016.

"No", Trump said. "I don't know".

Emails published by the New York Times earlier this year showed Sater suggested he could get Russian President Vladimir Putin to back the project and that building the complex would ultimately help Trump get elected president of the United States. The leader of that office, Senior Executive Vice President Bob Quinn, is retiring, Stephenson said. The President reimbursed that over the period of several months.

The disclosure also shows President Trump's current net worth at $3.1 billion.

Daniel W. Drezner, a Washington Post contributor who previously worked at the Treasury Department, said he was shocked to learn of Farrow's interview with the whistleblower.
