Warriors take 3-0 lead against Cavs

The Cavs' lead dwindled when they went to their bench, but Cleveland looked in its zone holding a 58-49 lead with the second-quarter clock winding down.

Durant was devastating in game three of the Finals on Wednesday, the Warriors star pouring in 43 points and recording 13 rebounds to inspire a 110-102 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. "But we've got to come out and got to play 48 minutes".

James had yet another triple double with 33 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, and Cleveland saw terrific games from Kevin Love (20 points) and Rodney Hood (15), but in the end, it wasn't enough.

Durant stood motionless after dropping his 33-footer, which gave the Warriors a 106-100 lead and effectively ended the fourth straight finals matchup between the rivals. Durant was the only Warrior to eclipse 11 points, as point guard Steph Curry shot 3 of 16 from the field and shooting guard Klay Thompson scored 10 just points. Just to put a dagger in them like that, that was a huge shot.

"Incredible, even by his standards", Love said. "We still have to have that enthusiasm, trust and belief that we can get this thing done". Ironically, it was center Javale McGee who spurred the run by rapidly scoring eight points - all point-blank shots created by the Warriors' offense. "I think that was mostly it".

"Game 3" because in Game 3s the last two years, he has just broken the Cavaliers' backs with some all-time performances. The Cavaliers told reporters they wanted to do right by Wade as they rebuilt the roster with younger players.

They were asking for trouble.

"It's nearly like playing the Patriots", Cleveland superstar LeBron James said Wednesday night. "I went back for you for your question", James said. That's what this team does.

If the Warriors finish this off - no team in National Basketball Association history has blown a 3-0 series lead - then all the hiccups of the regular season will be forgotten. He practiced each of the past two days to move closer to a return. Last year, Cleveland managed to win Game 4 before losing the next game-and the Finals-in Golden State.

"The margin of error is very low", James said.

But a lot of the angst won't be about the Warriors, it will be about James.

Another "Summer of LeBron" could start as early as Friday night. Stephen Curry has become the odds-on favorite to win the 2018 NBA Finals MVP award after making 14 of his 28 three-point attempts.

This isn't the first year that an NBA Finals game not involving the Heat has drawn an impressive TV rating locally.

A bounce here, a couple stops there, the Cavs could be leading in these finals and the conversation would be different.

"I guess because you are comfortable", he said. "That's who I am".
