One lucky person wins Mega Millions lottery

One very lucky victor in San Jose, Calif., bought the winning ticket from a liquor store and got to take the $522-million jackpot. The jackpot has a cash option of $308 million, which is obviously still not a bad chunk of change. But on Tuesday, it wasn't just the jackpot victor who got lucky.

The Mega Millions jackpot now reverts back to $40 million.

If you want to check your ticket, the winning numbers are 1-2-4-19-29.

The store stands to receive $1 million for selling the winning ticket.

The ticket was sold at Ernie's Liquors in San Jose, California, lottery officials confirmed on Wednesday.

"I hope he does a lot of charity, and maybe take care of all the family members and relatives around him or her".

Mega Millions tickets for may be purchased online at and at the Lottery's 11,000 retailers around the state until 10:45 p.m. the day of the drawing.

The victor of the ticket has not officially come forward. The Mega Millions pot is the fifth largest in that game's history.

The $522 million jackpot was won on a single ticket in California. Two of the second prize tickets included the megaplier and are worth $3 million. It was shared by winners in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland.
