Willian to return to training with Chelsea on Wednesday

Thibault Courtois' agent, Christophe Henrotay, has spoken with The Sun and said that the Belgian goalkeeper's desire is to sign for Real Madrid, but that Chelsea are trying to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian is due to return to Chelsea training over the next few days after helping his country finish third at the World Cup and being voted the best goalkeeper in Russian Federation.

"I spoke yesterday with him about him being late, not his future", Sarri told a news conference on Friday. The 26-year old Courtois want the move to happen but is reluctant to do anything unnecessary to hurt the team.

Florentino Perez offered £35m for Courtois, a fee Chelsea feel is low despite the keeper only having 12 months to run on his existing deal. Perhaps the best option would be to find a replacement and accept Madrid's offer.

Should Willian leave the South-West London club they would surely have to dip into the transfer market once again as they do not possess a replacement out-and-out winger.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri admitted on Saturday (AEST) he was unsure if Courtois, who is yet to feature in pre-season, would return to the club he joined in 2014.

'But this is a human decision based on someone wanting to be close to his children - and that is a reasonable thing too'. "I am not happy about this situation but before I answer, I would like to speak to him".

With five days left in the transfer window for Premier League clubs to sign players, Chelsea are yet to sign a goalkeeper and it has led to his agent making a public plea to let Courtois go in the next few days.

Thibaut Courtois is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and no team would like to lose the player of his calibre and quality.
